About Exos Aerospace and Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc.
Exos Aerospace is a pioneering suborbital space and materials test company, specializing in reusable rocket technology for suborbital space access. As one of only three companies in the United States with a current FAA launch license for a reusable rocket, Exos is at the forefront of commercial space exploration. We leverage our integrated pressurized structures and advanced Type 5 tank technologies to develop efficient orbital transfer vehicles and in-house upper stage capabilities. We hold an 18% ownership stake in Scorpius Space Launch Company, with an option to complete the acquisition at a 2021 valuation before supporting their Type 5 tank technology deployment on the Moon. As a 100% privately held company with a vision to transition into an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), we are committed to empowering our team with ownership opportunities. Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., an affiliate of Exos Aerospace, operates our advanced machine shop, serving both Exos’s aerospace needs and select external clients. Our team currently includes one multiskilled machinist specializing in designing and machining rocket engines. We seek a dynamic, multi-skilled professional to lead the machine shop under Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., complement our existing expertise, and contribute to the assembly, testing, and operation of cutting-edge aerospace systems in a versatile, multi-disciplinary environment. If you are passionate about space exploration and have an entrepreneurial spirit, join us in shaping the future!
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as a Multi-Skilled Machinist, Assembly Integration Technician (AIT), and Machine Shop Lead for Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., supporting Exos Aerospace’s mission, including a critical 1-year program for the US Air Force/Space Force. The ideal candidate is a high-functioning machinist with expertise in CNC lathes and mills, proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM/CAD software, and experience in aviation or aerospace instrumentation. This role complements our existing machinist’s focus on rocket engine design and fabrication by providing leadership for the broader machine shop operations, supporting assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of rocket-powered vehicles, including orbital transfer vehicles and upper stages, and driving business growth for Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc. Immediate priorities include restoring 4 older machines to full capability and machining parts for a Space Force Hover vehicle to prove a flight-weight RDRE engine, with responsibilities evolving over the program duration. The candidate will have a significant ownership stake in Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., a board seat in the machining company (1 of 3), and will earn an ownership stake in Exos Aerospace, aligning with the Exos mission to become an ESOP company.
