We’re Hiring: Lead CNC Machinist / Assembly Integration Technician (Greenville, TX)
EXOS Aerospace Systems & Technologies, Inc. is growing—and we’re looking for a multi-skilled builder-leader who loves precision, rockets, and real ownership. If you can run a shop and put hardware into space, read on. 👇
Who We Are
EXOS Aerospace is a pioneering suborbital space and materials test company specializing in reusable rocket technology. We’re one of only a few U.S. companies with an active FAA reusable launch license, advancing rapid, affordable access to space. Through our affiliate, Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., we operate an advanced machine shop that supports EXOS programs and select external clients. We also hold an equity position in Scorpius Space Launch Company—whose Type 5 linerless composite tanks are headed to the Moon.
Our long-term vision: transition to an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) so our team shares in the value we’re creating.
The Role
Title: Lead CNC Machinist / Assembly Integration Technician (AIT)
Team: Operations (Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., supporting EXOS)
Location: Greenville, Texas (on-site)
You’ll lead daily operations in our machine shop under Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., collaborate closely with a rocket-engine specialist, and contribute across assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of reusable rocket-powered systems—suborbital demonstrators, orbital transfer vehicles, and upper-stage hardware.
Immediate Mission
Restore four legacy machines to full capability.
Machine parts for a Space Force Hover vehicle to prove a flight-weight RDRE (rotating detonation rocket engine).
Support evolving program milestones over the first year on a USAF/Space Force effort.
What You’ll Do
Machining & Fabrication: Program and run CNC lathes/mills (multi-axis), hold tight tolerances, and deliver flight-worthy parts for integrated pressurized structures, Type 5 tank technology, and propulsion systems.
AIT: Assemble, integrate, and test rocket-powered vehicles and stages to meet exacting safety and performance requirements.
Instrumentation: Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot aerospace sensors and control systems.
Shop Leadership: Own maintenance, workflow, quality control, and scheduling for the machine shop; collaborate daily with our rocket-engine specialist.
Design & CAM/CAD: Use SolidWorks + CAM to design parts, generate toolpaths, and optimize processes.
Operational Support: Assist with vehicle testing, launch prep, and post-test analysis.
Quality Assurance: Inspect work using micrometers, calipers, CMM; read drawings/prints and apply GD&T.
Business Growth: Help expand Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc. with key external clients; scale hiring as demand grows.
Board Leadership: Serve as 1 of 3 board members for Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., participating in strategy and oversight.
Safety & Compliance: Follow best practices for LOX/ethanol and adhere to FAA, NASA, and AS9100 standards.

Established industry relationships.
Familiarity with rocket propulsion, suborbital systems, orbital transfer vehicles.
Cryogenics/fuels handling (LOX, ethanol).
Mori Seiki NLX 2500SY and bar feeder experience.
AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge.
Startup/high-growth aerospace background.
Why You’ll Love It Here
Real Ownership: Significant equity in Martin Systems & Technologies, Inc., a board seat (1 of 3), plus ISO equity in EXOS Aerospace.
Impactful Work: Contribute to Space Force programs, RDRE propulsion, and technologies headed to the Moon.
Growth Path: Lead, build, and scale a shop—without fronting the capital for equipment and facilities.
Benefits: Competitive salary (DOE), health insurance, profit sharing, paid time off.
ESOP Vision: Be part of a team intentionally building towards shared ownership.
